Our Couch to 10K Program has been developed by expert coaches who have helped thousands of runners reach their 10K goal.
Unlike self-paced learning running Apps, with our Program you’ll have access to our helpful intraining coaches, our training groups (across Brisbane) and the intraining Couch to 10K Facebook Group.
Bonus: You’ll be able to ask questions, get helpful feedback, run with others if you want to, and become part of the intraining running community.

Tip: To get faster, you have to go slow first!
This is our coaching team’s philosophy and it really works!
Develop your speed as you improve your endurance. Our Couch to 10K Program gives you a mix of speed and strength drills.
We’ll also teach you how to sense the difference between a 5K, 10K and easy running pace.
The program is adapted to suit you
Our Couch to 10K Program aims to improve your running fitness, give you confidence, and help you meet people.
You will feel more confident as you progress.
Our Program is designed to give you support
You will be connected with Guides from Achilles, other hearing impaired runners and have coaches and mentors from the intraining running community
MEET SOME OF OUR RUNNERS
David Wood
Marathoner, Trail runner, Ultra runner and mentor for Hearing impaired runners in the intraining Runners School program.
David has always been a runner, and connected with intraining more than 10 years ago. He has supported many other hearing impaired runners to enjoy their running.
Teresa Pahl
Marathon School Graduate, and trail runner. Teresa has been a member of intraining for several years.
Teresa connected with David at intraining sessions, joined the intraining running community, and worked towards her major events using the programs. Teresa used the program to help her collect a series of virtual race medals
Barbara and her guide Wendy
Barbara has run several half marathons. She used running at park runs to help get herself out of the house, build confidence and meet other people. She connected with Wendy through Achilles (Brisbane) who has been one of her regular guides.
” I had found that I had become more isolated, staying at home as my vision deteriorated. I started with parkrun where I met Wendy, who was my guide. At first I just walked… it took me three months, but eventually I did it and got better.
I can’t explain how much difference it makes when you have somebody to support you to get out and get independent. It’s increased my self confidence. It’s reduced the lifeing and going back to work.
Listen to Barbara’s inspiring story about how she became a runner.
Hear how Keiran became a runner
Jenny McVeigh: “My son, Keiran does parkrun every Saturday. It’s made such a huge difference to Keiran’s life. Being able to get out with other people in his situation, but also able body runners, who are just absolutely wonderful to be with.
They made him feel part of the group. It’s made him more confident in his ability to speak to people.
It’s meant so much to him. He’s had an Achilles Guide every week. People who’ve fronted up and given me a time and enduring friendships, boosting his confidence.”
Why Wendy loves guiding
“I’ve found guiding vision impaired runners to be a wonderful experience and a great way to get give back to the running community and also to encourage people that may not be inclined to get out and do some exercise on the weekends.”
Robert: "You're their eyes and ears"
“I see the enjoyment that the visual impaired runners get from being able to take part in a community event,
whether it be park run, or a real race, like bridge to Brisbane, guiding is important. You’re their eyes and ears. You keep them safe, but you build a good bond. You have a laugh with them, you have a talk. It’s all good fun. It’s a great way to set off your Saturday morning.”
Enrico has been guiding for years
“Being a guide with Achilles a running club is an absolutely rewarding experience.
Achilles guiding breaks down those barriers to be able to help people live an active lifestyle with him. It’s not only about building that relationship from a guiding point of view of building a genuine friendship as well.”
Become a guide
Become a guide for vision impaired runners and share your love of running.
